HIS PEACE

His ways are not our ways

Nor His thoughts our thoughts

But whatever His thoughts are…

They are good towards us, His children

And His ways are just perfect

His faithfulness is assured always

Sometimes things go so well for us…

The skies are blue, no clouds in sight

Love radiates from us to friends, and foes

Everything’s as perfect as it could ever be

And we are at peace with man, and God

Sometimes things go so bad….

Dark clouds abound, no silver lining around

Heavy burdens weigh down the heart

No one cares within the family, or without

Even God seems a million miles away…

The feeling that conveniently kills the urge to pray

Still, no matter how dark the clouds,

No matter how heavy the heart,

And no matter how far from God we feel

His children always can stop a while

And ponder on His many promises…..

‘…I am with you always…..’

‘….the numbers of your hair are counted’

His words are full of assurances

‘If we repent of, and confess our sins …He will forgive’

‘He clothes the lilies, feeds the raven…

He’ll do much more for us..’

‘He shall provide all our needs….’

‘All things work together for good…’

‘He is our Shepherd, we shall lack nothing…’

‘He is a very present help in trouble…’

And so much more…

His Spirit continually ministers to our spirits

That Father is forgiving, caring and loving

He is forever encouraging us, comforting us,

Providing for us, protecting us

While Christ is interceding for us,

forever pleading our case.

With this assurances come peace

Such peace the world does not know

The peace the world cannot understand

The peace the world cannot give

And then we can sing ever so joyfully

‘Let the unknown tomorrow

Bring with it what it may…

He will surely bear us through’
